Execution steps
- 01Set your monitor scaling / browser zoom to 100% (Native Resolution).
- 02Step back 3 to 5 feet from the monitor or squint your eyes slightly.
- 03Find the gamma circle/square where the horizontal alternating black-white line pattern blends seamlessly into the solid gray background.
- 04The value where pattern lines become invisible represents your screen current native gamma (Standard Windows target is 2.2, Mac target is 2.2/1.8).
Diagnostic symptoms
- The number (e.g. 2.2) where the striped box perfectly matches the background shade when viewed from a slight distance.
